  • Specify standards that apply to site operations
  • Specify special requirements:
    • Strength requirements for shutter removal (e.g. slab soffits)
    • Curing periods
  • Consider experience and training of site supervision and operatives (see Note in Other Guidance below)

Builder

  • Set out procedures for good practice in concreting operations
    • Handling, placing, compaction and curing
  • Additional requirements necessitated by :
    • Type of surface finish /formwork
    • Colour
    • Tolerances
  • Monitor outcomes of pours to ensure procedures are effective
  • Ensure credentials of sub-contractors meet project requirements
  • QA/QC – Pre-pour and post-pour checks

Producer

  • Establish delivery procedures to ensure concrete meets requirements
