Scope

I.S. EN 1992 (EC 2) applies to the design of buildings and other civil engineering works in plain, reinforced and prestressed concrete.

EC 2 is concerned with the requirements for resistance, serviceability, durability and fire resistance of concrete structures.

Parts

I.S. EN 1992-1-1

Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-1: General rules and rules for buildings.

I.S. EN 1992 Part 1.1 gives a general basis for the design of structures in plain, reinforced and prestressed concrete – more details

I.S. EN 1992-1-2

Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-2: General rules - Structural fire design.

I.S. EN 1992 Part 1-2 deals with the design of concrete structures for the accidental situation of fire exposure.

I.S. EN 1992-2

Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 2: Concrete bridges - Design and detailing rules.

I.S. EN 1992 Part 2 gives a general basis for the design and detailing of bridges in reinforced and prestressed concrete.

I.S. EN 1992-3

Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 3: Liquid retaining and containment structures.

I.S. EN 1992 Part 3 covers additional rules for the design of concrete structures for the containment of liquids or granular solids and other liquid retaining structures.

I.S. EN 1992-4

Eurocode 2: Design of fastenings for use in concrete.

I.S. EN 1992 Part 4 This European Standard provides a design method for fastenings (connection of structural elements and non-structural elements to structural components), which are used to transmit actions to the concrete

Use

Eurocode 2 refers to, and is intended to be used in conjunction with other I.S EN standards, particularly I.S EN 1990, I.S. EN 1991 for the design process, I.S. EN 206 for specification, I.S. EN 13670 for execution and I.S. EN 13369 for precast concrete products.
